I want to see the thing in itself.
My second year in Ada is going pretty well, I suppose. Nick and I got our own place, which is fun but really tests my self-control. It's a lot harder to go to class everyday when you don't actually live on campus. I'm sure that I'll correct that behavior once I flunk my first round of exams.
I just quit Blockbuster Video tonight. I couldn't handle feeling like a corporate drone anymore, mindlessly repeating rebuttals and suggestive sale techniques to push products on people who don't want them. [I see that we have an e-mail address on file for you. Well, may I go ahead and set you up for a free trail of Blockbuster Online? The program provides for unlimited movie rentals sent directly to your door! The first month is absolutely free, and you're under no obligation to stay with the program if you're unhappy. Also, with our rewards program, you can earn up to four free in-store rentals a month! All you have to do is go to blockbuster.com/trail and enter the promotional code 40038.] So, I figure I'll get some mindless job in a supermarket or something where I can disappear into hours mindless manual labor.
That's really all that's going on. I guess I'm going to break down and spend the $25 to see The Flaming Lips and Deerhoof, so that's exciting (for me -- not my wallet.) Deerhoof live is one of the most incredible experiences, and I'd like to see the Lips just because I know they'll end up as one of those Stones-esque rock icons thirty years down the road, and it would be nice to have seen them in their prime (kind of.)
Anyhow, I'm not sure if I'll ever write in this thing again -- but, whatever.
